I’m in San Diego right now for a Leadership Retreat for work. I’m kidless, imagine that!?!? We’ve had a spa day, a hike, corporate training and total relaxation at the most dreamy vacay house on a cliff overlooking the water. So it is kind of amazing that I’ve had this time to reflect on myself and our family and what kind of new routines we want to get in for the New Year. This is the first week of preschool for my little girls, and my crew thrives on a routine. Even though I’ve had them in camps this summer, the last few weeks have been hard and everyone just needed a break from each other.
I know it’s a little cheesy, but I get so excited about this time of year, even more so than New Years, because this is the REAL NEW YEAR… the Mommy New Year. They get into their routine and we can work on some new habits and patterns and I can do the same with myself. Of course, a lot of these goals are health and fitness based, but also, just new routines for my family.
Health and Fitness Goals
-More consistent with my nutrition,
-Plan out my Splurges
-Limit the alcohol to twice a week
-Yoga outside the home once a week
-Play with Intermittent Fasting with PCS
-More books, less iPad
-Make one on one dates a Priority
-Branch out with food, and have them try something new each week
-Eat dinner as a family in the dining room 2-3 times a week
I love that there is always a reason and a way to have a fresh start. It just starts with a decision to make a change. What are your goals for the Mommy New Year?
